Protest in solidarity with Raul to get him free and stop any future deportation
Wednesday 24th April, 4pm
Grey's Monument, Newcastle
Come to the protest where we will have a five-a-side goal set-up,
footballs, a PA system for music and speeches and pictures of Raul.
Raul Ally (pictured) is in his 13th
day of hunger strike since 10th April and is being held against his will in Colnbrook
immigration prison. UKBA have already tried to deport him once.
We are protesting in solidarity with his struggle to get him free and stop any future deportation.
Raul is a big Newcastle United fan and has played for lots of local
teams. Most recently he played in midfield for Gatheshead FC youth team
before being snatched by UKBA, and has also played for Gateshead
Redheugh, Ashington FC and Stocksfield.
Come to the protest where we will have a five-a-side goal set-up,
footballs, a PA system for music and speeches and pictures of Raul.
His team mates will be coming to support him - wear football shirts,
kick a football at immigration prisons and speak-out against racism!
Raul is 18 years old and has lived in the northeast since he was 12
after fleeing Somalia. The Home Office are attempting to uproot him from
his community and strip him of his identity by trying to deport him to
Tanzanaia - a country he has never been to and has no connection to.
The racist treatment of refugees in Britain is linked to Britain’s
imperialist plunder and pillage around the world, not least in Somalia.
Somalia has been carved up so that its energy resources can be
exploited. In a conference on Somalia hosted in London in December 2011
Britain talked of its intention to secure ‘British interests’ in the
oil-rich and strategically important region. Now another conference is
to be held in London on 7 May 2013. Ugandan, Burundian, Kenyan,
Ethiopian, US, British and French troops have all entered Somalia.
Imperialist Hands off Somalia! Shut down all immigration prisons! Stop deportations! Free! Free! Raul Ally!
Raul was deported late last night!!! to a country he is not familiar with! we mustnt give up the fight.....
